Our school’s Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) supports newcomer students and families with settlement services, navigating the school system, language interpretation, and more.
The Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) program provides support in multiple languages for students and families who are newcomers and refugees. The Multicultural Liaison Officer works with school staff to welcome newcomer families and connect them with important services, resources, and supports within our school and in the local community.
Abdulwahab Ibrahim is the Multicultural Liaison Officer at our school. Abdulwahab speaks English, Somali, Swedish and can also help you access support in other languages.

Bio:
Abdulwahab has been with OCISO since 2022. Abdulwahab loves assisting families and children settle in schools.
Before joining OCISO, Abdulwahab worked as a Student Service Advisor at the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Ottawa for 10 years. Abdulwahab has a MBA and a Bachelor of Economics.
In their free time, Abdulwahab enjoys reading, walking, and swimming. Abdulwahab believes, “be the best that you can be and go beyond expectations.”
