Raptor's Code of Conduct

During the 2023-24 school year, students, staff, and parents came together to talk about what being a Raptor means to them. Each group provided input on our school Code of Conduct, which we based around our school mascot, the RAPTOR.

We proudly hang our work in every classroom and common space as a way to remember what is expected - of students, staff, and families.

R - Respect for yourself, others, and the environment

A - Acceptance for all

P - Pride in your work

T - Teamwork makes the dreamwork

O - Open minded perspectives

R - Responsible for your actions

S - Safety as a priority

Vimy Ridge Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are gathered here today on the traditional and unceded land of the Algonquin Anishinaabe People, who have lived and thrived on this ancestral land since the beginning itself.

As we gather here to learn, we must recognize and appreciate the teachings of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people. They taught us to be kind, not only to each other but to the land itself. Many of our modern ways of life have evolved from the traditional methods of the Indigenous peoples. Findlay Creek is situated on the south Nation river watershed. This is an important natural ecosystem that must be protected through on-going dialogue with Indigenous peoples. An important lesson of Canada's First Peoples is that no matter how different someone is, instead of repressing said differences we should celebrate them. Diversity is what makes our country special and we are extremely fortunate to be part of a school that celebrates so many diverse cultures.
